All Day Plant Hike

On this advanced herb walk we will take our knowledge a little further and head into the high country to identify alpine flora and learn about their incredible edible and medicinal properties.

Beginning Edible and Medicinal Plant Identification

This walk will startwith an introduction into plant identification and uses as well as ethical wildcrafting and plant medicine making.  Then, we will head into the field and learn hands-on how to identify our local plants and discover medicinal and edible properties.

Native Fruits of Late Summer and Fall

Class participants will learn basic identification of native edible fruiting plants in our area.  They will also learn ways to prepare and preserve native fruits.

Fall Harvest Plant Walk
A slower paced walk identifying the edible and medicinal plants as they turn from vibrant green to autumnal hues of orange and brown.  We will be focusing on ethical wildcrafting and powerful medicinal roots including our native plant Osha or Lingusticum porter.

Composting 101

Class participants will learn the basics for any composting system, indoor or outdoor -- but the emphasis will be on indoor and small space systems-composting in vessels, vermi-composting (worms), anaerobic composting.
