SUMMARY:San Juan Oktoberfest
DESCRIPTION:San Juan Oktoberfest\n\n\n\nSunday\, October 4\, 2026 | Hartwell Park | Ridgway\, Colorado\n\n\n\nThere’s nothing quite like Ridgway in early October — bright blue skies\, golden aspens and cottonwoods glowing on the hillsides\, and the irresistible scent of bratwursts sizzling in Hartwell Park. That can only mean one thing: Oktoberfest has arrived! \n\n\n\nThis year marks the inaugural San Juan Oktoberfest\, happening Sunday\, October 4\, immediately following the wildly fun Ridgway 1K Rally Through the Alley. After the costumes\, laughter\, and downhill dash through town\, the celebration continues in the park with a festival that blends Austrian tradition with Rocky Mountain charm. \n\n\n\nLIVE MUSIC by RHS Band members and leaders to kick things off — followed by POLKA MUSIC BY POLKA PYO of Paonia! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPolka Poyo is what a polka band should be in the 21st century. It is built on the “ompah band” foundation of sousaphone (tuba)\, accordion\, drums\, and horns\, but then enriches the genre with a heavy influence of New Orleans style jazz\, waltzes\, classic American songbook\, and even some punk rock. Polka Poyo features Jon Hickam on Accordion and vocals\, David Alderdice on percussion\, Jeannette Carey on Sousaphone and vocals\, and Tony Peters on sax and trombone. \n\n\n\nPicture lederhosen and dirndls\, frothy steins clinking together\, live music filling the autumn air\, and kids laughing just as much as the adults. It’s the perfect way to send off summer and welcome the golden days of fall in the quirky mountain town we all love: Ridgway. \n\n\n\nGrab Your Stein & Drinks\n\n\n\nPlanning ahead? Pre-purchase a commemorative Oktoberfest stein and pick it up at Will Call in Hartwell Park. \n\n\n\nEach 2026 San Juan Oktoberfest stein includes one complimentary beer fill\, and additional pours can be redeemed with two drink tickets or two punches on your card. \n\n\n\nOnline stein sales end September 1. \n\n\n\nNeed more drinks during the day?Additional drink tickets and 6-Drink Punch Cards will be available for purchase on-site. \n\n\n\nWe’ll be pouring a festive selection of Oktoberfest-style beers from breweries across Colorado\, along with regular pours served in standard event cups. \n\n\n\nCompetitions Worth Watching (or Entering!)\n\n\n\nThink you’ve got what it takes to win festival glory? Sign up on-site for one of our Oktoberfest competitions: \n\n\n\n• Stein Hoisting Contest• Best Dressed Contest (lederhosen and dirndls encouraged!)• Pretzel Toss• Chicken Dance-Off• Kids Games & Activities \n\n\n\nWe’re especially excited to partner with Voyager Youth Program\, who will be hosting Pumpkinpalooza alongside the festival — a fun-filled kids’ area featuring games\, prizes\, pumpkin painting\, and more. \n\n\n\nCompetition sign-ups open at 1:30 PM on a first-come\, first-served basis and close 10 minutes before each contest begins. \n\n\n\nEven if you’re just cheering from the sidelines\, the crowd energy should make every competition a blast. \n\n\n\nProst & Dance the Day Away\n\n\n\nOktoberfest wouldn’t be complete without great music. Our lineup will feature live bands delivering a mix of traditional Austrian festival sounds and high-energy favorites that will keep the park lively all afternoon. \n\n\n\nSo grab a stein\, pull up a bench\, and dance\, toast\, and celebrate the season. \n\n\n\nProst! \n\n\n\nRules & Regulations\n\n\n\nTo help keep San Juan Oktoberfest safe and enjoyable for everyone\, please note the following: \n\n\n\n• No Outside AlcoholSan Juan Oktoberfest operates under a special event liquor license\, so outside alcohol is not permitted. \n\n\n\n• Please Drink ResponsiblyHelp us keep the event fun\, friendly\, and safe for all attendees. \n\n\n\n🎟 Learn more or register now at  ridgway1k.com

SUMMARY:Weehawken Dance presents The Nutcracker - Remixed
DESCRIPTION:This holiday season\, Weehawken Dance puts its own unexpected spin on a beloved classic with The Nutcracker\, Remixed — a vibrant\, imaginative production that brings together ballet\, jazz\, hip-hop\, aerial arts and more for a fresh take on Tchaikovsky’s timeless holiday favorite. \n\n\n\nThe familiar magic of The Nutcracker is still here — the wonder\, the adventure\, the larger-than-life characters and the feeling that anything might happen when the clock strikes late at night — but this is definitely not your grandmother’s Nutcracker. Weehawken’s version turns up the energy\, mixes genres and gives dancers and aerialists of all ages the opportunity to help tell the story in surprising and creative ways. \n\n\n\nFeaturing Weehawken’s youth dancers and aerialists\, ages 3–18\, The Nutcracker\, Remixed is the culmination of the fall semester and one of the biggest productions of the year. From our youngest performers taking some of their very first steps on a major stage to advanced dancers and aerialists taking on featured roles\, hundreds of students come together to create one enormous community production. \n\n\n\nThe result is a holiday show that feels both familiar and completely new — filled with beautiful dancing\, big ensemble numbers\, unexpected music and movement\, aerial artistry\, colorful characters and plenty of theatrical magic. \n\n\n\nWhether The Nutcracker is an annual tradition for your family or you’ve never seen it before\, The Nutcracker\, Remixed offers a joyful\, high-energy way to celebrate the season together. \n\n\n\nDecember 9–13\, 2026Montrose PavilionWednesday–Saturday at 6 PMSaturday & Sunday at 1 PM
