This year Weehawken will be offering six-week conversational Spanish courses with Russell Evans.

Mr. Evans taught Spanish for six years at MHS and three years at RSS. He has taught all levels of high school Spanish to grades 8-12.

These two hour courses will take place twice a week in an outdoor setting. This will allow for safe social distancing while also seeing each other's faces while learning to speak. Mr. Evans will provide materials and access to online tools to help students improve their language skills outside of this time. The majority of the class time will focus on speaking and conversation.

The six-week session will be Mondays and Wednesdays from August 24th to September 30th. The classes in Ridgway will be at Hartwell Town Park from 12:30PM to 2:30 PM. In case of inclement weather, these classes will be moved to the Sherbino Theater.

Academic research suggests that it is more beneficial for learners of a second language to have a variety of levels and abilities in the same class. During the two hour class period, Mr. Evans will facilitate entire group conversations as well as individualized learning.
