Become Confident in Painting in Watercolor! Cheri Isgreen, a signature member of the Colorado Watercolor Society, will share tips, techniques, and strategies for painting with transparent strokes, clean color, and self-assurance. Become proficient using professional-grade pigments, paper, and brushes. Cheri will break down the steps to adding figures to your painting, guiding you step-by-step with easy-to-paint strategies. Make your landscapes and street scenes come alive with the addition of people.
In addition, you will learn a variety of techniques including using arbitrary color, negative painting to describe shapes, aerial perspective, and making/using nontraditional tools. Understanding pigments is the key to becoming an accomplished painter. In this class, you will learn the properties of a variety of essential pigments and how each behaves to produce subtle and/or bold effects. We will use Daniel Smith pigments, Winsor & Newton 140# cold press paper, and a selection of flat and round brushes. All materials are provided to each student.
Cheri is known for her original vision in art, using light, shadow, and luscious color. Her work can be seen here.
This class is recommended for beginner and intermediate artists. If you are uncomfortable with drawing, Cheri will provide poppy templates for brush stroke practice. She will guide you step-by-step with lots of demonstrations to complete your own masterpiece!
REGISTRATION REQUIRED as we cannot accommodate walk-ins. Don’t wait! The last day to register for the class is Sunday, September 15th.
