Classes can be held at one of our art classrooms, in the artist’s own studios, in your home, or at another location of your choosing as listed below.

Watercolors with Cheri Isgreen
Explore the boundless possibilities of creating with watercolors and Mixed Media. Cheri Isgreen, signature member of the Colorado Watercolor Society, is known for her original vision in art, use of light, and luscious color. She will guide you step-by-step to completing your own painting in your choice of media: watercolor, acrylic mixed media collage, or mixed media mono prints. Choose any of the following themes: birds, flowers, aspen trees, harvest, holidays.
Cost: $35 each student for a one hour class. $40 each student for a two hour class. Min. of 5 students, maximum of 14 students. No experience necessary, all materials are included.

Landscape Painting in Oils with Emma Kalff
Learn about the fundamentals of classical landscape painting with artist Emma Kalff. Classes are 2.5hrs long, begin with an overview of the basics of painting, and then move into the specifics of painting the land. Students must sign up for at least two classes.
Cost: $140 each student per class ( 2 students min.), $130 each student per class ( 3 students), $120 each student per class (4 students), $110 each student per class (5 students). No experience necessary, all materials are included.

Chine Colle Collage with Ouida Touchon
Exploring collage, and chine collection with handmade and handprinted papers, vintage images, and acid free mounting paper. Exploration with chine colle requires a press, paste, scissors, and a bunch of scraps of beautiful papers which are combined with printed vintage birds and botanicals to create a composition. During class you will make up to 5 prints which will be suitable for framing or great gifts. We will use my Takach etching press and also explore pressing by hand.

Mastering Monoprints and Composition with Ouida Touchon
Essentials of composition and a primer of rules as applied to mono printing with an emphasis on line, form and values from light to dark for mono print success. In this two day class you will work with your sketchbook and then create several finished monoprints with an assortment of monoprinting techniques using the press including inking and texturing plexiglass plates, inking of vellum shapes, and overprinting in layers to gain gradation of color, value and shape as well as line details with the idea of exploration and spontaneous discoveries.
Cost: Price for the two day class is $360 each for 2 students max., or $480 for 1 student. Each day will consist of 5 working hours from 10am until 3:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break (times are open to change, as long as we work for 5 hours). No experience necessary, all materials are included.

Nature Monoprinting with Ouida Touchon
In this class we will explore some of the creative possibilities of handprinting and building images without a press. Monoprinting lends itself to experimentation and playfulness with various techniques and layers of color. We will use plant material from my garden as stencils and offsets to create unique and mysterious images that sometimes appear somewhat photographic. Each class member will end the class with several handmade prints that they are proud of and that are remarkably unique and beautiful.

Block Printing on Monoprint with Ouida Touchon
Exploring the art of nature-mono printing, and block printing with mono print. We will spend one day learning how to work with water-based inks, plant materials from nature and archival papers to create one of a kind monoprints on the printing press. The next day we will create a carved block with chisels and learn to print it on paper using the press, as well as by hand. At the close of the day we will put the two techniques together to create combination print(s) with the two techniques

Reduction Woodcut with Ouida Touchon
Discover the Art of Reduction Printmaking and Edition Printing! In this two day class you’ll master the techniques of transferring a drawing, understanding registration procedures, carving with chisels, and creating stencils to isolate specific block areas. You’ll also learn hand techniques for adding unique surface effects with ink. The class covers both hand rubbing and press printing methods. Your working drawing will be no larger than 8×10 inches, and you’ll create a final edition of four finished woodcut prints on Kitakata paper. By the end of the class you’ll have a finished edition of remarkable woodcut prints.
